Gladstone New Fuels Development Project Stage 3

QER’s Stuart deposit, near Gladstone in Queensland, has the potential to produce over a billion barrels of finished fuel products- mainly diesel and aviation fuel.

QER’s successful demonstration of the Paraho technology for processing oil shale has laid the foundation for development of a full-scale commercial facility on the Stuart deposit, and the Queensland Government, following a review of the industry, concluded the project could proceed through appropriate regulatory processes to a commercial plant.

QER’s current focus is on the development of a commercial-scale plant producing around 8000 barrels a day of finished fuels, but significant work has been completed on the longer-term goal of a full scale commercial facility producing 50-70,000 barrels a day of high quality transport fuel.
